Grey County Council met at the call of the Warden on the above date at 10:01 a.m. at the County Administration Building. The Warden called Council to order and assumed the Chair.

The Warden invited members of Council to stand for O Canada.

The Clerk called the Roll with all members present with the exception of Councillor McQueen. Councillor Dickert and Councillor Pringle participated electronically. Alternate Councillor Allwood attended in place of Councillor McQueen.

Director Scott Taylor participated electronically.

The Warden read the land acknowledgement.

    That the minutes of the County Council meeting and Committee of the Whole meeting dated February 12, 2026, and the resolutions contained therein, be adopted as presented.

    That By-laws 5269-26, 5270-26 and 5271-26 be introduced and be taken as read a first, second and third time, finally passed, signed by the Warden and the Clerk, sealed with the seal of the Corporation and engrossed in the by-law book.

    1. 5269-26 - A By-law to Establish Remuneration and Expenses to be Paid for County Council
    2. 5270-26 - A By-law to Amend By-law 5090-20, being a By-law to update the Fees and Service Charges for the County of Grey
    3. 5271-26 - A By-law to confirm all actions and proceedings of the Council

Tolleen Parkin, Executive Director of Lee Manor, shared that the province is investing $9 million over 3 years in emotion-based care for dementia care. The Ministry has accepted 17 homes of the 626 in Ontario for funding with Lee Manor being one of them. The home was selected for their Colour It program which is centered around person-centered care.

Councillor Keaveney noted that the Municipality of Meaford has established a Family Physician Recruitment and Retention Incentive Program after approval at their Council meeting this past week. 

She further shared that Doctor Cristina Allen passed away this past week. Doctor Allen was a partner in the Experimental Acres project in 2025 and she was a dedicated doctor in the Meaford area.

Councillor Carleton shared that the Township of Georgian Bluffs will host a charity hockey game on Saturday March 7th in Shallow Lake between the police and fire departments as well as a polar plunge to benefit Special Olympics Ontario. The game will start at 1:00 p.m. with the plunge to follow.

Councillor Bordignon noted that the Town of The Blue Mountains has arranged a vaccination clinic in the Council Chambers at the town hall next Friday March 6. Councillor Bordignon thanked the office of the CAO and the Grey Bruce Health for getting this up and running quickly.

On motion by Councillors Paterson and Nielsen, Council adjourned at 10:13 a.m. to the call of the Warden.
