Steve Lowe, Chair of Georgian College's Board of Governors, shared that on April 15, 2025, Grey County was presented the 2025 Community Partner Award with Deputy Warden Brian Milne and CAO Kim Wingrove in attendance. He spoke about the positive partnership with Grey County Council and thanked Council on behalf of the Board of Governors, staff, and students.
Dave Shorey, Executive Director for the Owen Sound Campus shared that this meaningful award presented to Council is there way of recognizing that Grey County is building opportunities for people, and creating prosperity within the County and beyond.

Director of Economic Development, Tourism and Culture, Savanna Myers took a moment to recognize Steve Lowe and Dave Shorey of Georgian College. She shared that Grey County nominated Georgian College Owen Sound Campus for the Nuclear Innovation Institute's and Bruce Power's Clean Energy and Champion Award. She shared that on April 15, 2025 Georgian College was recognized at the Canadian Nuclear Conference in Ottawa.
Warden Andrea Matrosovs recognized Councillor Ian Boddy in receiving the Municipal Government Stewardship award. This award was given to him by the Canadian Nuclear Isotope Council at the Canadian Nuclear Conference in Ottawa.
Warden Matrosovs recognized that an additional award was presented to the Saugeen Ojibway Nation. Chief Ritchie of Saugeen First Nation and Chief Nadjiwon of Saugeen Ojibway Nation were at the conference in recognition of their collaboration and partnership in delivering Isotopes.
Clerk Tara Warder introduced Acting Deputy Clerk Brittany Rier to Council.
Councillor Carleton shared the Market and Motors event with classic cars and market vendors starting on Monday May 5th. The event will continue on every Monday through the summer at Cobble Beach.
Councillor Dobreen shared the South Grey Chamber of Commerce Home Garden and Cottage Show is on this weekend (April 26-27, 2025) from 10:00AM-4:00PM on Saturday, and 10:00AM-3:00PM on Sunday at the Flesherton Kinplex.
Councillor Kenter shared the Annual Quilt Show is back at the Meaford United Church 10:00AM-4:00PM this Friday and Saturday (April 24-25, 2025).
